A Time For Greatness

Here is an example of a JFK Oregon campaign poster.
This poster showed up on ebay a few months ago, and it was the first time I had ever seen this style of poster in an Oregon version. It looks to be printed on heavier cardboard stock and has the Oregon campaign information on the bottom.

Here are two photos from the Oregonian Archives that feature the posters in use during the May Primary. One is of volunteers at the campaign office and the other is an event at Cleveland HS where Kennedy was giving a talk.

This poster is highly desirable not only to Oregon collectors but to Kennedy collectors as well. The one that appeared on ebay sold for for $125.00, which had some condition issues. I would suspect similar posters would fetch between $50-$150 dollars depending on condition. While the contact info on the bottom is a must for us Oregon folks, a Kennedy collector probably doesn't have to have one just like the above, but would take the more generic version that was used in other parts of the country.

  1. Here's my JFK in OR post on Blue OR. Does anyone have the OR jfk tabloid I link and/or know what it has sold for in recent years? http://www.blueoregon.com/2013/11/remembering-john-f-kennedy-two-years-frequent-visitor-oregon/

  2. Thanks for the link again Grant, I included it in the first JFK post. I have seen that newsprint sell for $5-$25 depending on condition. It is hard to find one that has not yellowed significantly.
